A Very Distinct Sound
Just got back - well, in a matter of speaking - from Good Friday service at church and couldn't wait to share my experience. I'll try to keep it short and succinct. Its not often that I get to hear the church sing from the audience stand point and tonight was more beautiful than ever. People singing, "The Wonderful Cross" - and I stopped to listen as they sang it. Hundreds of people - I didn't even really care to listen to the words - it was the sound of many people singing together that fulfilled something inside. It reminded me and renewed in me the sense and knowledge that the bride, the Church is beautiful. And I can't help but think of the Church's global sound - one that you can't replicate - but one that is undeniably building and preparing for the return. And then it gets me thinking - with all the songs we hear and write and play, and then repeat the process - - - think about what the sounds and sound of Heaven will be like. I mean, how would or does it sound? My guess is that because it is a place of peace and love, the music will be of that nature. I wonder if anyone is writing songs from Heaven now...
