EPHESIANS FIVE | VERSE ONE AND TWO
"Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that." [Ephesians 5:1-2]
How do we watch what God does? How do we do it? It's probably been over-complicated to the point of exhaustion, but it has to be done. It's probably been preached for hundreds of years in many places, in many languages, but it has to happen. Think of yourself as the 'invisible kingdom.' Here's what I see:
- An invisible kingdom, Christs' kingdom, comes to earth and shows itself boldly when we believe and become persistent for more of Jesus.
- An invisible kingdom which has limitless power, empowers us to do simple things like talk to people we don't agree with [i.e. homosexuals, the abusive, racists, friends] and share love that is beyond our ability.
- An invisible kingdom that hunts for evil and restores good. That replaces ugliness with beauty and restores dignity to the shamed.
- An invisible kingdom that plows over religious action and belief and dwells in relationship.
- An invisible kindom that is so interested in Jesus, so interested in people, so interested in the good - - - theres nothing left of evil.
