Just saw the movie with my beautiful girl and I thought it was quality. I didn't feel like I watched a movie though which is kinda strange. Here are some thoughts or observations that stood out to me. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT SPOIL IT FOR YOU. THESE ARE MERELY OBSERVATIONS:
- Racial seperation is so lame. Even through rough times, people still hold on to unseen anger and harbour bitterness towards people who have a different appearance.
- The earth is beautiful - and wild.
- We have the opportunity to let our stories cultivate our history and develop our love for one another.
- Adoption should be considered by more people. And then done.
- The last scene shows to aboriginal figures walking off in the distance. One is old and one is young. The older is taking the younger on something called a "walkabout." We need to help younger people along on the journey and pass on the good stories and culture that will allow them to soar over the problems we stand so close too. This is an amazing picture of what Fatherhood could really accomplish if it was done right.
