PLANNING FOR A STORY | NOT AN EVENT

Tonight, my compadre Nick Lathe and myself worked out the preliminary songlist for Repossess in september. It was exciting to see a snapshot of the night come together. In our planning, we desire [in all areas of the night] for a story to come together that points to Christ in a beautiful way. We desire for people to come away feeling the need for more of Jesus first and second, the desire to live missional; to see the need of their neighbors, whether near or far. I believe that we must look at events differently by focusing our attention to the things they are aimed at reaching. In the case of Repossess, we desire for people to communicate their love to God and be loved by Him. In this case, a 'story' has elements that people understand. In the same way, Repossess should make sense; it should be something that is understood in a package that we recognize when he hear or see or discover a good story.
