Grace Is Our Immediately
Ever wondered what it takes for Jesus to save someone? It's real simple. "Lord, save me!" were the words of peter as he fell into a wild stormy sea. Jesus knew exactely how to respond to those words though. This is how He responded [Matthew 14:28-31]:
- 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous,[a] he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
It was an immediate response. And it wasn't peter's hand that had to to reach for his friends'. It was his friend, Jesus, who made the first move towards saving him. That is grace in its finest form. "Lord, save me!" then Jesus makes the first move of loving us before we even know what to do next. He is way better than I know. But I wanna know so bad. I wanna know more and more of His love because the bit that I do know has wrecked me for anything less. And I know that anyone who comes in contact with a dose of the 'good stuff' is gonna get hungry for the same thing.
