Reality | Perspective | And Changed Lives

Heres a thought to get you started for todays topic:
  • What if you could take every individual's revelation of Jesus Christ today [through His word, His nature, His character, His creation, etc.] and listen to each one in that same day... If all of those people were gathered together in one place, there would be such an explosion of excitement followed by knowledge and wisdom that it would take days and weeks maybe a lifetime to take into account. Thats God being big and us being small.

Now, imagine yourself in prison very early in the morning when you are awoken by an angel who tells you to get up, dress up, and follow him out of the prison. You do so only to find the angel dissapear after you are out of the prison. You REALIZE that it isn't a dream and that you have really just been sprung out of prison. You then make for your friends house to find them praying and hanging out. You knock and knock and a girl answers, gets excited and then shuts the door in excitement to tell the friends of your return. The friends don't believe that you really have returned from prison and insist that the girl is out of her mind. You KEEP knocking and they finally come to their senses and realize its you. And then they stop praying. This is the story of Peter visiting his friends as they pray on the night of his jail break [Acts 12:4-16]

Heres what stirred me and became revelation to me as I read this:

  • Peter REALIZES that its not a dream! Its REALITY! What brought him into REALITY? He interpreted the signs.
  • Peter KNOCKED until they answered! Peter's release from prison was probably mentioned that night by his friends in prayer, but they did not come to the reality of that right away. They did not interpret the signs.
  • Peter continued to knock until they finally answered and to their astonishment, there he was! Peter, live and in living colour!
  • God said, "Josh, look for the answer before the prayer is over." I need to check my surroundings, the happenings, the pauses, the blips, the bumps to see if I might have my answer already. I don't want to be ignorant of God's blessings and if I am to be naive in anything may it NOT be in the discernment of the signs of the times. God is all about speaking and answering. We should be all about listening and waiting.

That's awesome stuff Yesh. I've experienced a much heightened sense of God's presence, communication, and direction in my life over the last couple weeks. I know, with certainty, that God is up to something huge in our body. If we're listening, we can hear a massive crescendo of God's power and work in the lives of the people around us. It's like an orchestra. You can feel it building. The intensity. The quickening. I can feel it in my life and I can see it happening all around me. If there was a gathering of people like the one you described, I would be the first one in line to share what I see God doing. Week by week, I can't wait to see what God does next.
