Arts Walk: Day 2
They came. They conquered. They left. This might be an accurate statement by the procession of the species participants, but from where I stood, I saw purposeless and miscommunicated truth. People desire to be creative and to express what they hear, see, feel, etc. I saw people ranging from young to old expressing creativity for no apparent obvious purpose. And it was a form of worship to dance in the streets and beat on drums and dress up like a created being, but it wasn't directed to God and therefore is meaningless. What if these people could turn their self-worship into a worship that glorify's God? What if they turned the parade from a chance to JUST show off some new costume and instead brought awareness and resource to local & global needs. Our creativity is so powerful and I would love to see it become a driving force in changing the way we reach people. If creative images, sounds, & ideas can drive movies, music, and art, we can definitely harness that creativity to reach people who speak the same language.
